MANCHESTER RUM - FIRST EDITION

Five years in the making - Distilled in Manchester - Aged in England

For nearly ten years, The Spirit of Manchester Distillery has been built around one simple idea — creating exceptional spirits that reflect both our love of distilling and the city we proudly call home.

Many people know us for Manchester Gin, the spirit that helped put our independent distillery on the map.

But behind the scenes, we have always been driven by a desire to keep refining our craft and broadening what we are capable of creating.

Manchester Rum is the natural evolution of everything we have built.

For some time, we have known that aged spirits would play an important role in our future.

Whisky has always been part of our long-term ambition, but we also understood that entering the world of aged spirits required time, patience and an entirely new set of skills. Rum became our natural starting point.

It allowed us to develop the expertise needed to better understand barrel ageing, cask management and the art of blending.

Those lessons will continue shaping everything that comes next.

Our first experience with rum came through One Eyed Rebel. It gave us an early understanding of the category, but over time our knowledge deepened and so did our ambition.

We wanted to create something more considered. Something slower.

Something that felt more reflective of the distillery we had spent years building.

Manchester Rum became the natural evolution of everything we had learned.

Back in 2020, we laid down our first barrels.

We started with carefully selected white rum and re-distilled it with a beautifully balanced blend of botanicals, here beneath the arches of Manchester, using everything we had learned from years spent creating award-winning spirits. Then we put it into barrels and waited.

And waited.

For five years, individual barrels have quietly aged while being carefully monitored and refined at every stage. Nothing about Manchester Rum has been rushed.

Time has shaped every part of this liquid.

Creating aged spirits is never simply about what happens inside the barrel.

Over time, every cask develops its own unique character, making blending just as important as the original distillation itself.

Knowing when to blend, how to balance flavour and how different casks interact is where true complexity begins to emerge.

This is where Manchester Rum truly comes to life.

Manchester Rum launches with First Edition. The first release in what will become an evolving collection of future Editions.

Each Edition will explore new cask finishes, seasonal expressions and distinctive flavour profiles, ensuring no two releases will ever be quite the same.

Manchester Rum represents far more than a single release. It reflects years spent broadening our craft and marks an exciting new chapter for the distillery.

This is only the beginning.
