A One-Off Gin for the BRIT Awards’ Manchester Debut
This year, the BRIT Awards land in Manchester for the very first time and honestly it has been a long time coming. Manchester has been shaping British music, culture, and attitude for decades, so seeing the BRITs arrive here feels less like a relocation and more like a homecoming. So when Mastercard and Capital One Entertainment asked us at The Spirit of Manchester Distillery to create a special gin for the occasion, we didn’t hesitate. Some opportunities don’t need a second listen. This was a chance to reflect the city properly. To capture its confidence, creativity, and character in liquid form, and to let Manchester speak for itself.
B R I T Built into the Recipe
Rather than making a polite nod to the BRIT Awards, we decided to hard wire them into the recipe itself. Four letters. Four key botanicals. Straight into the still. Built on a classic backbone of juniper and coriander and our signature botanicals of dandelion and burdock, we’ve added a subtle, nostalgic edge and the BRIT botanicals bring the attitude.
Bay leaf brings a savoury, punchy edge that immediately sets the tone.
Rosemary is loud, resinous, and unapologetic. It refuses to sit quietly in the background.
Iris keeps things sharp and architectural, adding structure rather than sweetness.
Thyme is dry, earthy, and grounding, pulling everything back into line.
Bold flavours working together in a way that feels confident, modern, and a little confrontational. Like the best music that has ever come out of this city.

What makes this collaboration special is not just what is in the glass. It is why it exists. Manchester doesn’t chase the spotlight, it builds the stage. The BRIT Awards coming here feels like a recognition of that energy, and a celebration of the people, places, and ideas that have always powered the city forward.
